Monthly Update: March 2023
Dear Fringe Community,
We have made significant strides in our mission to provide innovative and accessible DeFi solutions this month. We have expanded our list of accepted collateral assets, shared the full scope of our vision for Fringe v2, and continued conceptualizing and building new features behind the scenes.
We are dedicated to creating a dynamic and user-friendly DeFi platform and are, as always, thrilled to share our progress with you! Let’s take a look at everything that happened this March.
The technical team is preparing our new smart contracts for formal auditing. This will be a significant milestone in readiness for the upcoming Fringe v2 release. Once the audit completes, we will address any necessary issues before Mainnet deployment on all chains we’re initially targeting –Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, and zkSync.
With new and improved large language model AI tools recently becoming available, Fringe Finance has introduced new steps in our quality assurance process, including AI pre-audits of our smart contracts. We have conducted manual and AI pre-auditing checks to tighten up our contracts before handing them over to our auditors.
These pre-audit AI checks intend to best assure our code quality, contract safety, and expedite the audit process. After all, we have a long series of enhancements to the Fringe platform that we want to ensure are as water-tight as possible, including our new interest rate model, atomic repayments, new partial liquidation model, decentralized backend, multi-chain rollout, support for LP token collateral, support for additional capital assets, our new leveraged trading facilities (“Amplify” and “Margin Trade”), our new oracle price model and our wrapped token gateway that allows users to use ETH on our platform seamlessly.
The team has also been designing our pooled collateral support, which will give greater flexibility to borrowers and traders by allowing them to use any collateral assets in a pooled manner to secure loans and leveraged trading positions. Yes, we know what you’re thinking –the team is on fire adding new utility to the Fringe platform to make it one of the more compelling DeFi platforms in existence!
We’re pleased to share that the upcoming features that will make up Fringe Finance’s v2 are falling into place nicely. We’re working hard towards fine-tuning the above platform features, getting the smart contract audited, and tackling any issues that arise during testing v2.
In case you missed it, here’s our article outlining our updated roadmap and what’s to be included in v2 and beyond: Road to v2: An Updated Fringe Finance Roadmap
In addition to that, we recently hosted an AMA with CTO Brian Pasfield where we answered your questions and went into detail on the features that will make up v2 of the platform: Road to v2 and Beyond — AMA with Fringe Finance

Updated whitepaper and roadmap
Check out our new infographic for a sneak peek into the future of Fringe.
Whether you’re a long-time user or a new adopter, the roadmap is worth checking out to see how v2 is poised to overtake its predecessor!
We’ve also updated our whitepaper. The revised version accurately reflects all the latest developments and improvements at Fringe. You can see the updated whitepaper at https://app.fringe.fi/whitepaper.pdf.
We have noticed a lot of excitement surrounding our ZkSync integration. We’ve been working closely with ZkSync to assist them in incorporating The Graph, a decentralized indexing protocol, into the ZkSync ecosystem. The Graph plays a crucial role in numerous DeFi projects by allowing for efficient data indexing and querying on blockchain networks.
By integrating The Graph, developers building on zkSync will benefit from enhanced indexing and querying capabilities, paving the way for even more creative and scalable DeFi applications.
Want to know why we’re looking forward to launching zkSync? We explained some of the tech that makes zkSync so innovative in these mini-threads:
- What is #zkSync at its core? Today we’ll visit the concept of a #zkEVM
- Let’s take a moment to talk about zero-knowledge proofs (#ZK or #ZKP) and their potential to revolutionize the world of #DeFi
Collateral Asset Listings
In March, we expanded our list of accepted collateral assets with three new integration announcements! The new listings are:
We are dedicated to continuously enhancing our platform to accommodate an extensive variety of DeFi tokens, and our efforts to integrate additional tokens won’t stop here! Look forward to more integrations coming in the near future.
AMA with Fringe Finance
We hosted a Twitter Spaces for our Road to V2 Ask-Me-Anything this March. There, we discussed a range of topics related to our V2 launch, including but not limited to the new features and improvements that users can expect, as well as our vision for the future of our platform. Click here to read the transcript.
Here are some of the highlights from this AMA:
- Our takeaways from the Euler hack that just took place.
- Whether Fringe is open and running on the zkSync Closed Mainnet.
- If our Day 1 deployment to multi-chain will support zkSync.
- Our current thoughts on USDC and Circle.
- How we’re establishing Fringe as a safe haven for large sums of capital during these turbulent times.
- How do we intend to navigate in the event that Fringe yield-farming for lenders fails to bootstrap TVL?
- The critical difference between the Margin and Amplify platforms.
Fringe Ambassador Program
Additionally, we’re thrilled to share that our ambassador program is in the works. While we can’t reveal all the details yet, we have received strong interest from our community and are currently finalizing the selection process for our initial group of ambassadors.
Stay tuned for more updates on this!
