Fringe Finance Monthly Recap - July 2024
Fringe Finance at EthCC!
July was an exciting month for Fringe Finance as members of our team attended the EthCC conference in Brussels. Our mission was to delve into the rapidly evolving decentralized finance (DeFi) world and bring back fresh insights and valuable connections. The conference did not disappoint!
Our first priority was reconnecting with our existing technology partners. These discussions were incredibly fruitful, allowing us to hear about their latest features and innovations. Not only did this strengthen our relationships, but it also sparked ideas for potential collaborations that could greatly benefit Fringe Finance.
A major focus of our attendance was exploring integration opportunities with DeFi Intent platforms and smart wallets. Intents are set to revolutionize user interaction with DeFi protocols. Instead of manually executing a series of complex transactions, users can now define high-level goals or “intents,” and let the system determine the optimal way to achieve them.
This concept is particularly relevant for Fringe Finance as our imminent V2.5 upgrade introduces support for composite instruments like LP tokens and ERC4626 tokens.
Imagine a user wanting to leverage LP tokens to borrow against, then using the borrowed funds to yield farm in another protocol. With Intents, this multi-step process can be condensed into a single, user-friendly action.
Leaving Brussels, we brought back a wealth of new ideas and possibilities. The future of DeFi is looking brighter than ever, and Fringe Finance is poised to play a significant role in shaping that future. Fringe’s upcoming releases of V2.5 and V3 will integrate many of these new ideas.
Tech Updates
- Loading Speed: Ongoing rework to improve performance — primarily by optimizing RPC multicalls.
- v2.5 Audit: The audit continues within the planned timeline. We target to receive the report from the auditors by mid-August.
- Other v2.5 items: The technology team is undertaking the engineering for deployment on new chains
- v3 work: V3 smart contracts are almost ready for audit.
Marketing & Content Updates
In July we integrated protocols like Trader Joe, The Graph, Quickswap and Vela Echange on our platform. We are building the foundation to more use cases for their tokens, a deeper integration within their protocols, and setting the stage for advanced strategies for our users!
We release an article explaining how to use Fringe Finance to hedge the impermanent loss of your LP position. In short, in exchange for a fraction of the potential profit, you prevent the impermanent loss that could occur in your investment.
We had a wonderful time participating in a Vela Exchange community call and also held an X Space with Veno Finance to talk about the future of zkSync expansion plans with their Elastic Chain and what that means for protocols like Fringe and Veno. You can check the recording below!
Looking Ahead
August is a packed month! We are in the final steps of the v2.5 launch: Finishing the audit, new partnerships, outreach to new communities, and the launch plan for a smooth release. We at Fringe Finance remain dedicated to providing innovative solutions and fostering a secure, efficient, and user-friendly environment for all our users.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in Fringe Finance.
